Welcome! We are the Sundown Ski Patrol. We are here to serve you whenever you visit Sundown Mountain. Safety is our #1 concern. We want to ensure that you have a safe and pleasurable experience each and every time you visit Sundown Mountain Ski Resort.
We do this by working with the management of Sundown Mountain to promote the  Skier/Snowboard Responsibility Code which requires all skiers and snowboarders to ski/ride in control and to respect the rights of other patrons at all times.
The Sundown Ski Patrol currently has 66 members. Our members come from all walks of life and share a common goal to provide a safe and pleasurable skiing/boarding experience. We want you to enjoy skiing or snowboarding as much as we do!

Skiing, like any active sport, has elements of risk and serious injury that common sense and personal awareness can reduce. The Sundown Mountain Skier Responsibility Code, posted at the ticket window and found on the back of the trail map, must be adhered to for your safety and the safety of others. When you buy a lift ticket and use Sundown Mountain's facilities you agree to accept the risk of skiing and obey the code.
All who use the features on our terrain parks must follow the 4 Smart-Style rules posted at the top of the terrain park.

Your Responsibility Code

Skiing and snowboarding, in many forms, have elements of serious risk or injury that common sense and personal awareness can reduce. It is your responsibility to show courtesy and obey the code, printed on the trail maps and above the ticket window, for your safety and the safety of others.

1. Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people, objects, or vehicles.
2. People ahead of you have the right-of-way. It is your responsibility to avoid them. No fast skiing on green dot trails.
3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.
4. Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others.
5. Your equipment must have metal edges and devices to help prevent runaway equipment.
6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas. Use only maintained trails.
7. Prior to using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely. Snowboarders should have only one foot in the binding when getting on and off the lift.
8. All jumping is prohibited except in the Terrain Park. "NO INVERTED AERIALS".

Drugs and Alcohol: We reserve the right to deny the use of the area facilities to anyone who appears to be under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.

Theft of Services: Skiers/riders without lift ticket will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Sundown Mountain is not responsible for lost or stolen property. We recommend that all skiers/riders use our ski check area or personal locks for protection of equipment.

We expect courtesy and respect among all our skiers/riders to preserve the enjoyment of the sport for everyone.

Photography: With purchase of services, we reserve the right to photograph people and events for use in advertising or publicity for Sundown Mountain, without personal consent.

Helmets: Helmet use is considered an individual option for both skiers and riders. Parents are encouraged to log onto www.lidsonkids.org for more information.
