MEMBERSHIP RULES

  1. Sundown memberships provide the owner full use of Sundown lifts during normal operating hours but are NOT valid for special closed sessions of all night ski.
  2. It is mandatory that Membership I.D.'s must be visible on the right arm or upper body (excluding gloves and hats) at all times.
  3. Memberships are NOT transferable under any circumstances. Any membership that is transferred will no longer be honored by Sundown.
  4. All memberships are non-refundable.
  5. Sundown assumes no liability for personal injury or property damage, including loss or breakage of member's equipment.
  6. We reserve the right to require proof of age and/or school attendance.
  7. Sundown is a recreational ski/board area. Members are responsible to know these Membership Rules, "Your Responsibility Code," general rules for safety and good conduct and for obeying all Sundown signage.
  8. The following will be cause for immediate loss of skiing privileges:
    a Theft and/or vandalism of Sundown or other guest property.
    b Use of foul language.
    c Interference with snowmaking, grooming or ski patrol operations.
    d Smoking in non-smoking areas - Underage Smoking.
    e Violation of "Your Responsibility Code."
    f Violation of general rules for safety and good conduct.
    g Failure to obey Sundown signage.
    h Inverted aerials.
  9. Loss of your season membership card may result in your loss of skiing privileges for one week. A new card fee of $20.00 must be paid and a new membership will be issued.
  10. Sundown management reserves the right to determine what lifts or runs are operating at what time.
  11. I understand that violation of any Sundown's rules or policies will constitute good cause for loss of membership for the season.
 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY CODE

The following responsibility code must be adhered to for your safety and the safety of others. If you do not agree with the Responsibility Code, do not purchase a pass to use the facilities at Sundown Mountain. Purchase of passes will acknowledge your agreement that you will obey the following:

  1. Be alert for hazards. Ski/snowboard under control and in such a manner that you can stop or avoid vehicles, snowmaking equipment, other objects, or skiers/snowboarders.
  2. Each skier/snowboarder must assume responsibility for his or her actions as it relates to the safety of others.
  3. Yield to other skiers/snowboarders when entering a trail or starting downhill.
  4. Avoid the person below you when going downhill or overtaking another skier/snowboarder.
  5. Avoid stopping where you obstruct a trail or are not visible from above.
  6. Ski/snowboard on open groomed areas only. Keep off closed trails and posted areas and observe all posted signs.
  7. Jumping is permitted in designated areas only (i.e., Terrain Park). Jumping carries a serious risk.
  8. Speed should be greatly reduced on beginner (green dot) runs and any congested areas. No racing is permitted except in designated areas at designated times.
  9. All snowboards/skis shall be equipped with metal edges and retention straps or ski brakes.
  10. All chairlift passengers must remain seated at all times while riding the lifts. Snowboarders must have one foot free of their bindings when loading and unloading from chairlifts.
  11. Each skier/snowboarder is responsible for knowing how to load and unload from lifts.
  12. No inverted aerials.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I, the purchaser and user of this pass, know, understand and agree that skiing and snowboarding involve risks, dangers and hazards. These risks, dangers and hazards include, but are not limited to, changing weather and snow conditions, changing trail conditions, variations in steepness or terrain, natural and man-made obstacles and structures, equipment failure, collisions with objects or structures, being struck by skiers/riders or equipment, and exceeding my own abilities. Ski terrain may have moguls, forest growth, trees, rocks and debris, lift towers, snowmaking equipment and moving or stopped skiers/riders.

I agree, as a condition of being allowed to use the ski area facility and premises, that I freely accept and voluntarily assume all risks of personal injury or death or property damage, and I RELEASE SUNDOWN MOUNTAIN AND ITS AGENTS, EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, DIRECTORS, OFFICERS AND SHAREHOLDERS FROM ANY AND ALL LIABILITY FOR PERSONAL INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE WHICH RESULTS IN ANY WAY FROM THEIR NEGLIGENCE OR FAULT, CONDITIONS ON OR ABOUT THE PREMISES AND FACILITIES, THE OPERATIONS OF THE SKI AREA (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, GROOMING, SNOWMAKING, SKI LIFT OPERATIONS, SKI PATROL OPERATIONS, ACTIONS OR OMISSIONS OF EMPLOYEES, VOLUNTEERS, OR AGENTS OF THE AREA), OR MY PARTICIPATION IN SKIING/RIDING OR OTHER ACTIVITIES AT THE AREA, ACCEPTING FOR MYSELF THE FULL RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY FOR ANY AND ALL SUCH DAMAGE OR INJURY OF ANY KIND WHICH MAY RESULT.

In signing below, I certify that I have read, understand and accept:

  1. Sundown's Membership Rules
  2. Your Responsibility Code, and
  3. The Release of Liability Agreement
I also agree and understand them to be legally binding.
