UPDATE: We have moved the Sunday portion of the race to Saturday for a one-day event!

The first-ever Sundown “Spring Showdown” Race will take place on March 6th, 2021. This is an open invitation race and is open to any racer ages 5-19 years old. You do not need to have a “team or race hill affiliation”. All racers will compete in the U-class age brackets by gender (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, U18, U20). U-class is “U – Under” that particular age. U8 = 7-yrs old and under; U10 = 9-yrs, 8-yrs old; U12 = 11-yrs, 10-yrs old; U14 = 13-yrs, 12-yrs old; U16 = 15-yrs, 14-yrs old; U18 =17-yrs, 16-yrs old; U20 = 19-yrs, 18-yrs old. Age for the U-class will be determined by DOB as of 12-31-2020 (for example if your racer is 12 years old as of 12-31-2020 – they would be in the U14 class). There is no team competition for this event. It is not affiliated with WIJARA or USSA. Entry Cost for this event is $10, (cash or check) paid day of the event. The deadline to sign-up is Monday, February 22, 2021. Late entry is $20 (anything past 2/22/2021). SRT racers are covered for this event under team dues. Must follow Sundown’s COVID policies.

Conditions require that all inspections be done from outside the courses.

Gatekeepers:
We would love to get any help we could for gatekeeping. If interested, we will have gatekeeping lift tickets available at no cost. Please reach out to JT Mills (563-580-8515 or [email protected]) if interested. SRT will provide a balance of gatekeepers during both days. Each course will have designated spaces on each course where gate-keeping positions will be
stationed. Please be on time for the gatekeepers meeting in the downstairs of South Lodge by 8:00 each morning, look for Mike Davis. Gatekeeper Lift Tickets will be handed out at the meeting and specific gate-keeper locations will be assigned.

• Discounted tickets may be purchased online until midnight on Thursday, March 4th.
• We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE pre-registering online to eliminate lines & streamlining the registration process.
• Pre-registering will also give you a 10% discount. If you do NOT pre-register, then you will have to pay full price on
tickets at the Ticket Window inside Mountain Center on Friday, March 5th from 4 pm-11 pm; Saturday, March 6th or
Sunday, March 7th.
• Pre-registered tickets can be picked up Friday, March 5th from 4 pm to 11 pm at the Mountain Center inside the ticket
window OR Saturday morning between 7 am and 9:30 am at the Mountain Center ticket window.
• On Friday (from 4 pm-11 pm) & Saturday (from 7 am-9:30 am) the ticket windows in the Mountain Center will be
open for racers and their families to purchases additional lift tickets (at FULL price). Please specify that you are here
for the race.
• Racers may attach their lift tickets to a coat, helmet, or goggles.

Awards:
Awards will be for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place in all age/gender classes. Awards ceremony (medal distribution) will be held
at the top of the race hill by the start shack immediately following the race. Preliminary race results will be posted to
scoreboard sheets near the maintenance building, just adjacent to the race start shack.
